XFCE 4.20, Wayland (labwc), GDM, Linux Lite 7.2

Test Continuation

Moving forward with the testing of Linux Lite 7 running Wayland I decided to create some new wallpaper and a new icon for the whisker menu as well as dressing up the conky.

I also upgraded the kernel to the 6.14 version. The Lite Tweaks kernel installer worked nicely and the new kernel substantially reduced my boot time and also improved some application loading times.

I have to admit I’m quite pleased with the results so far. I’ve begun testing networking functionality with Remmina and X11 forwarding under Wayland. So far Remmina works fine as the client under Wayland able to connect to my other systems with VNC, RDP, XRDP, SFTP, SSH and PowerShell in Windows. I will report more in depth on this in the next segment.
